Living Intentionally

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you figure out why."
- Mark Twain

What is Intentional Living?

Intentional living is a lifestyle choice that involves being deliberate and mindful about how you spend your time. It's about setting goals and working towards them in a way that is meaningful and fulfilling. Whether it be personal or professional goals that you set - the on-going goal should be continuous growth and development.

Why Intentional Living Matters.

Your time is the most precious commodity you have - it's the one thing you can never get back. That's why it's so important to be intentional about how you spend it. Every moment counts, and if you're not careful, time can slip away without you even realizing it.

How I Live Intentionally.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to intentional living. It looks different for everyone, depending on what your goals and priorities are. Here are some things that I do to make the most of my time:

  1. Get up early! That age-old saying "the early bird gets the worm", is an age-old saying for a reason. I'm up at 4:15am every day (yes, weekends too). By 6:00am on any given day, you bet that I've made the bed, had my coffee, fed the and watered the horses and dogs, made a couple of journal entries to help me organize my thoughts, showered and done my hair and makeup, and am completely ready for whatever the day throws my way.

  2. Take advantage of down time. There are so many great ways to optimize your down time without defeating the purpose. As an example, I LOVE to take a hot, relaxing bubble bath in the evenings - and I bring a book with me! Not a stressful read that's going to get my wheels turning for the rest of the night, but generally something inspiring and information - an easy read. Consider it an elevation to your "you time". You'll come out of the tub feeling refreshed and inspired.

  3. Podcasts & MasterClasses: My jam. I have a 45 minute commute every morning and afternoon. For someone in my position, that's a lot of time on the road that I can't afford to waste on road rage. So I take the opportunity to listen to podcasts, or more recently, complete my MasterClasses! Of course, it's important to stay focused on the road so sometimes I miss a line here and there, but the occasional replay is a fair trade to get the most out of my commute.

Some of these things may seem trivial, but so often it’s the quote from my bubble bath book, or the line I had to repeat from my MasterClass commute that drives the next move I make for my companies. Remember, every moment is an opportunity.
